Satyajit Ray Foundation organises short film fest

MUMBAI: The Satyajit Ray Foundation, in association with the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF), has organised a short film festival titled ‘Short Film Competition 2011’ that will go on from 25 to 29 August.

“We are looking for films that show imagination and creativity and reflect the cultural diversity and experiences of South Asians within their own country or the Diaspora,” states the official website of the festival.

The Foundation has called for entries. There is a cash prize of ?1,000 for the winning film. Not only will the film be presented with an award but it will also be screened at the London Indian Film Festival.

As per the Foundation, the film should be not more than 20 minutes in length. It should express and inform aspects of the experiences of South Asians (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka) either within their own countries or the diaspora.
