Reminiscent India Television's Miss Lashkara 2001 Beauty Contest reaches a climax on 5 December in Ludhiana, where 20 contestants will slug it out for the beauty title.

The event will be telecast on the Lashkara channel on 15 December at 7:30 pm. An enthusiastic 45 contestants participated in the preliminary rounds of the contest, held in Himachal Pradesh. The selection criteria included personality, poise, confidence, talent and ability to communicate in a clear manner. According to RI officials, participants hailed from even small towns like Moga and Kapurthala.

Currently, the 20 finalists are undergoing thorough grooming in personality and presentation skills. Special category contests will be held on 30 November as a sort of prelude to the finale. These include the Anchor Toothpaste Miss Beautiful Smile and the Weight Care Miss Perfect 10. Then in Jalandhar there will be the Kesh Amrut Miss Beautiful Hair. The Hamdard Safi Miss Beautiful Skin will be conducted at Lilly Resorts on December 3.
