CBeebies introduces raft of new children's programming for festive season

MUMBAI: BBC Worldwide‘s pre-school channel CBeebies has introduced a raft of new children‘s programming this festive season - six in all.

The channel premieres Pablo the Little Red Fox, an animated short for 2-6 year olds; Toddworld, an award-winning series that teaches children about tolerance, diversity and acceptance when playing together; Charlie and Lola, the imaginative animated series that has captivated pre-school children all over the world; and Numberjacks, animated superhero numbers who solve mathematical problems in the real world with input from real children.
What happens when the naughtiest, bravest and most curious fox cub in the world moves from his safe home in the country to the strange and dangerous city? In the animated series, Pablo the Little Red Fox, Pablo‘s adventures are full of fun and mayhem, as the little fox cub and his friends, a dog named Baxter, a cat named Finbar, a frog called Fromage, a seagull called Gil and an owl named Madam Owl, make the most of their life in the strange, wonderful and sometimes scary world of humans.

Pablo the Little Red Fox airs every week day at 8:50 am, 11:50 am, 2:50 pm, 5:50 pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 6:50 am, 9:50 am, 12:50 am and 3:50 pm.

Toddworld follows the adventures of a boy named Todd and his friends. In a magical world where human beings, animals and even the occasional aliens from outer space live and play together, Toddworld explores the common themes and social challenges of a young child‘s life with colourful humour and quirky charm. Toddworld is produced by Mike Young Productions.

Toddworld airs every weekday at 6:50 am, 9:50 am, 12:50 am and 3:50 pm.

Making its debut on CBeebies is award-winning Charlie and Lola, charmingly depicting sibling relationships. Captivating young children everywhere, Charlie and Lola is the television adaptation of the children‘s books by Lauren Child. The story follows Charlie, an eight year old boy and his five year old sister, Lola as they come across life‘s daily problems and using their own unique methods of imagination and fantasy to solve them. Charlie and Lola is produced by Tiger Aspect Production for CBeebies and is a mix of 2D animation, paper cut-out, fabric design, real textures and photomontage.

Charlie and Lola premiers on CBeebies on 15 October and airs week days at 7:20 am, 10:20 am, 1:20 pm and 4:20 pm, and on weekends at 8:25 am, 11:25 am, 2:25 pm and 5:25 pm.

Other series making their debut in India on CBeebies include The Shiny Show and Numberjacks. In The Shiny Show, three puppet characters - Tiggs the Tiger, Dogsby the dog and Mukka the Monkey - hold a lively quiz show. The series encourages kids to interact and participate in order to help develop self-esteem and confidence. Each episode, children are given the opportunity to award themselves something shiny when they answer a question correctly, and are praised for joining in.

The Shiny Show airs every day at 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm.

The Numberjacks are superhero numbered characters from Zero to Nine, who live inside a sofa and solve mathematical problems. The series is aimed at developing early maths skills, knowledge and understanding amongst children. With the help of a child character, each episode focuses on a mathematical concept designed to encourage children to enjoy learning with numbers.

Numberjacks premiers 19 November and will air every day at 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm.
