Patna court refuses stay on telecast of SABe TV's 'Ramkhilawan...'

SAB TV

There is good news for SABe TV as far its comedy show Ramkhilawan CM 'n family is concerned. A Patna court yesterday refused to grant a stay of the telecast of the controversial serial that has raised the hackles of Bihar strongman politician Laloo Prasad Yadav.

And in a separate ruling given yesterday, the Bombay High Court granted a stay on the non bailable warrants issued by a Patna chief judicial magistrate against the Adhikari brothers. The warrants were issued on an FIR filed by two Patna residents accusing the show of mocking members of Parliament and Laloo Prasad Yadav.

Yesterday Chief Judicial Magistrate, Patna, SK Srivastava, while hearing a title suit filed by a senior advocate Radharaman Pradhan, declined to permit stay on the telecast of the serial, the Press Trust of India. In his title suit Pradhan sought a permanent ban on the telecast of the serial.

The PTI report states that Srivastava, however, served show-cause notices on SABe TV chairman Gautam Adhikari, vice-chairman and MD Markand Adhikari, chief public relations officer V Verma, director of the serial Vijay Acharya, presenter and writer Ashwini Dhir, artistes Vineet Kumar, Sushmita Mukherjee and Sanjay Mishra, to explain their position as to why the telecast of the serial should not be banned.
