New features on Abu Dhabi TV's IT show

ABU DHABI: Click, Abu Dhabi TV's IT show, is set to begin a new season with new additions and interactive competitions offering cash prizes to viewers.

The new season will begin with extensive coverage of GITEX Dubai 2002, the Middle East's premier IT show, taking place in Dubai from 13 to 17 October, highlighting the various aspects of the event through interviews with key participants and features on major exhibitors. The program will highlight new developments in IT and communications in the Middle East and across the globe and focus on major portals as well as personal websites.

Click, launched on Abu Dhabi TV in February 2000, has completed 97 episodes so far and is due to return this month after the summer break. During its run, it has interviewed over 100 CEOs from the field of IT programming, hardware, communications and the Internet.

Among the major attractions of the new season is a mega competition on web designing being organised in association with the Sheikh Mohammed IT Education Project. The competition, open to viewers from across the globe, will give away Dhs 100,000 in prizes to the best entries.

Click is viewed by a wide cross-section of viewers from the region and the globe, an official release says. It enjoys the support of leading IT and communication companies. The format is designed to present features on IT subjects in a simple manner, enabling viewers of all ages to follow the latest developments in IT products and solutions as part of a larger transition to the world of technology and adoption of new concepts of innovation and automation. The Click website www.click.ae has become one of the most popular Arabic websites, providing users access to the latest information on IT and related fields, the release claims.

Click is produced by Mohannad Amin and presented by Tufic Jobran, with direction by Ahmed Atif. It is aired on Abu Dhabi TV on Fridays at 11:00 pm (0.30 am IST), and repeated on Mondays at 5:00 am (6:30 am IST) and on Thursdays at 1:00 pm (2:30 pm IST).
