Fox TV to produce 'Terminator' sequel for television

MUMBAI: The Fox Television Network has committed a pilot series based on the popular Terminator franchise. According to a Variety report, the series, tentatively titled The Sarah Connor Chronicles, would focus on what happens to the Connor family after Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be produced by C2 Pictures in association with Warner Brothers Television. Popular screenwriter, Josh Friedman, has been roped in to write the pilot and serve as executive producer and show runner for the series.

Friedman has issued a warning that the new series would not be an action-packed, shoot-'em-up like the movies. "This is in part due to lower television budgets. However, it will offer a healthy dose of both action and drama," says Friedman.

Vampire warrior Blade will also be making the transition to the tube in an expensive pilot set to start shooting in Vancouver next week. Reportedly, the series will hit UK television next summer.
