MUMBAI: Korean fixed-line operator KT Corp is planning to launch IPTV service in Korea by the second half of 2006. The announcement came during a demonstration of its new IPTV service in Seoul.

Reportedly, KTC showcased 12 services which were accessed through touch-icons. These included live television, pay-per-view, information, learning, communication, commerce, multi-angle, audio, high-definition, entertainment, video-on-demand and set-up.

The Korean government's regulatory hurdles have been preventing the company from launching the services. KTC officials have expressed their hopes that the regulatory issues will be resolved during the first part of 2006.
