MUMBAI: The Writers Guild of America (WGA) have announced nominations for overall excellence in writing of episodic series on television during the 2005 season.
For the first time in the history of the guild, three new television award categories will recognise all the writers of the winning series. The new awards to be presented are - Writing for a Dramatic Series, Comedy Series, and New Series.
The drama series nominees are HBO's Deadwood, ABC's hospital soap Greys Anatomy, ABC's adventure show Lost about a group of plane crash survivors, HBO's black comedy Six Feet Under which came to an end this year and NBC's presidential drama The West Wing.
The comedy shows nominated are Fox's Arrested Development, HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage and NBC's My Name Is Earl and The Office.
