CNN's service for Asians interested in American news

cnn

MUMBAI: This piece of information should be lapped up by Asians who cannot get enough of news from the US. Turner will introduce another news service CNN Headline News to the Asia Pacific region from 1 November 2004.
CNN Headline News targets audiences who have specific interests in American news and information. Anchors from CNN's headquarters in Atlanta present fast-paced news headlines. The network is designed especially for viewers who want comprehensive news from the US in a way that suits the urgency of their schedules.
Every half hour the service will offer a mix of top US-focussed stories while also covering business, health, technology, weather, entertainment, the environment, sports and travel. Additionally, the CNN Headline News superticker provides continuously updated headlines, airport delays and stock figures.
Viewers in Thailand will be the first in Asia to see CNN Headline News with the network carried by P-Southern in Thailand from its launch. Initially launched in the US in 1982, CNN Headline News claims to be available to more than 84 million households and in more than 600,000 hotel rooms in the US, Canada and in some parts of Latin America and the Caribbean.
TBS Asia Pacific president and MD Steve Marcopoto added, "CNN Headline News offers US-focused news in a fast-paced format and is the perfect complement to the global coverage of our flagship channel CNN International."
