Broadcasters in meetings again with PMO officials on CAS

MUMBAI/NEW DELHI: It's another day of meetings over CAS for the major pay broadcasters in the Capital with the Prime Minister's Office officials
Today's meeting at South Block started around mid-day and those present from the industry include Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea, Star India COO Sameer Nair, SET India CEO Kunal Dasgupta, ESPN Star Sports' Manu Sawhney, Zee Telefilms' Jawahar Goel and Discovery India's country head Deepak Shourie.
The meeting is expected to revolve around the pricing of pay channels' ways to smoothly rollout CAS in the metros, including a proposal for area-wise implementation in the cities of Delhi and Mumbai.
Today's meeting was preceded by a major broadcaster conclave in Mumbai yesterday, which went on till past 1 a.m. and was also attended by Zee Tele chairman and managing director Subhash Chandra.
Apart from Chandra, the Mumbai conclave was attended by the same set of people who are at present in the PMO.
