DUBAI: Taj Television's Ten Sports is broadcasting all the 18 matches of the ongoing hockey champions trophy to the Middle East. The tournament began in Amsterdam on Saturday.
The deal was brokered by the International Hockey Federation’s (FIH) exclusive distribution partner Octagon CSI. Ten Sports is available to subscribers on the Pehla silver, Pehla gold, Firstnet silver and Firstnet gold packages on ADD, and also on E-Vision.
The channel will now be available to viewers in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. It's reach will extend to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait.
FIH honorary secretary general Peter Cohen has been quoted in an official release as saying, "This year’s Rabobank Champions Trophy is setting new standards in hockey’s global television exposure, both on TV and Internet platforms. In broadcasting all 18 matches of hockey’s premier annual event to the Middle East, Ten Sports will significantly contribute to the promotion of our game in several developing hockey countries."
