India-China ink maiden film co-production deal

MUMBAI: Even as India Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his maiden visit to China to boost trade and relations between the two countries, Indian media and entertainment firm Eros International has signed its first ever Sino-Indian co-production deal with Chinese state owned production company Chinese Film Corporation (CFC).

 

The two companies will co-produce the movie Da Tang XuanZang (Monk XuanZang), which is based on the life of a Chinese monk (Monk Xuanzang) and stars Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming, It will be directed by HuoJianq.

 

With this, Eros International is the first Indian studio to associate with the Chinese government and co-produce an Indo-Sino film. The movie,

 

The deal was announced in China in the presence of CFC head La Peikang, Eros International Media president - business development Kumar Ahuja and SAPPRFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People's Republic of China) vice minister Tong Gang along with Xiaoming and Jianq.
