MUMBAI: HT Media, the company which owns Hindustan Times, has announced the appointment of Benoy Roychowdhury as business head (media marketing).
HT Media CEO Rajiv Verma announced Roychowdhury's appointment yesterday.
According to a statement issued by HT Media, "This change is designed to create an organisational structure for HT Media sales organization that will optimize and strengthen organization capabilities and support the company's growth and value creation strategy. Given the organization's agenda of growth in Mumbai, refocus on Hindi and entry in new categories like radio, it will be imperative that we strengthen our organizational capabilities to take on the challenges ahead."
Roychowdhury, who will will function out of Delhi, will now have Suresh Balakrishnan HT Media vice-president, media marketing and Triveni Das reporting to him. In this newly created role, Roychowdhury will lead the development and execution of a media sales and marketing strategy to support HT Media's new business growth goals and increase leverage of geographical expansion that is currently being rolled out.
The appointment of Roychowdhury comes in the wake of Hindustan Times planning a Mumbai edition later this year.
