Bangalore's first DD director Kamalapur expires

BANGALORE: Jayateertha Narayanrao Kamalapur, who headed the Bangalore DD Kendra during its initial years -- 1983 to 1984 -- passed away in Bangalore.

 

Kamalapur who started his broadcasting career as an executive in All India Radio has worked at AIR Gulburga and AIR Dharwad.

 

Kamlapur was 80 years old when he breathed his last. He had retired from duty much before the formation of Prasar Bharati.
