Vijay TV lines up Tamil version of 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge'

MUMBAI: After consolidating the weekend primetime with KBC 2, Star Vijay is now looking at strengthening some of its key Sunday time bands.

To start with, the channel is beefing up the 9:30 am to 10:30 am time band with the Tamil version of the successful Star One comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (TGILC) and then the 8 pm - 9 pm primetime slot with a musical show Harmony.

The Tamil version of TGILC, Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru will be launched on 30 October. Vijay TV repeats the entertainer-cricketer host combination of the original Star One show with television-movie personality Jayanth and cricketer Sadagopan Ramesh for the Tamil version as well. The channel has already launched the promotions of the show.

Harmony is a one-hour musical show, showcasing one singer per episode. The list boasts of singers such as Chitra, Hariharan and S P Balasubrahmanyam. The show will be launched on 6 November.
