MUMBAI: Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron Monster will guest-star in five upcoming episodes of US broadcaster Fox's Emmy Award-winning comedy series Arrested Development.

In India the show airs on Star World. Theron will portray Rita, a British woman whom Michael played by Jason Bateman dates.

The series revolves around Bateman's character who is doing his best to pick up the pieces and keep his offbeat family from falling apart after his father, George Bluth (Jeffrey Tambor), is sent to prison for fraud. The show has featured guest appearances by stars, including Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Liza Minnelli, Zack Braff, Heather Graham and Ben Stiller.
