'T3' helps HBO gain an edge over arch rival Star Movies

MUMBAI: Our baseline is no more a baseline! It's a headline!

The war for supremacy in the English movie channel genre shows no signs of letting up. Star Movies started the year by releasing data claiming to be number one.

Arch rival HBO has now retaliated by issuing data that shows that in the battle of terminators Terminator 3 fared better than Terminator 2.

Quoting Tam data c&s AB 4+, five cities, January - April 2005 HBO also states that it has three of the top five films. Hulk which had aired on 30 January had a TVR of 0.86. This is followed by Star Movies' Jeepers Creepers II with a TVR of 0.76. The Scorpion King and Terminator 3 both of which aired on HBO earned TVRs of 0.75 and 0.72 respectively.

Among males 15-44 Terminator 3 on HBO got a TVR of 1.03 versus 0.70 for Terminator 2 on Star Movies. It must be mentioned that Terminator 3 was one of HBO's Big Ones. Terminator 2 on the other hand has aired countless number of times.

HBO's big titles in the coming months include Matrix Reloaded and the sequel to Lara Croft.
