Miditech wins Intl award for 'Witch Hunt'

MUMBAI: Indian production house Miditech's documentary The Great Indian Witch-Hunt, has been declared the winner of the second edition of the ShowReal Asia Awards in a recently held event in Singapore.
 

Miditech made the documentary for National Geographic Channel (NGC). The Great Indian
Witch-Hunt won in the Best Film category. ShowReal Asia is a collaboration between NGC International and the Economic Development Board. The film will be soon aired globally
through National Geographic Channel's network.

The award winning documentary is a result of a continuing partnership of Miditech, NGC and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
 
 

Written and directed by Rakhi Varma, this one-hour documentary, follows author and journalist Sohaila Kapoor who heads out to the tribal region
of Jharkhand in north India to investigate a brutal witch-hunt that has just taken place in this region.

Sohaila is eager to uncover the chain of events that led to the witch-hunt. She raises various questions as her investigation lead her into a world of witchcraft and black magic. Are
these women really witches.or is there something more sinister stalking this land? Sohaila decides to dig deeper.

The Great Indian Witch-Hunt has also won at the 30th Rapa Awards in the best direction- documentary category. Another Miditech production winning the Rapa Awards is a lifestyle programme Top Drive Getaway in the
Non-Fiction English category. The travel programme that has young professionals
with a hunger for adventure driving some of the top of the line automobiles that are currently in the Indian market. Top Drive Getaway
airs on Star World.
