Jetix France to be renamed as Disney XD from April

NEW DELHI : Disney’s action-adventure animated channel Jetix France will be renamed as Disney XD on both TV and the Internet from April this year.

The new channel will continue to target boys between 6 to 14 years of age.

Disney XD will complement Disney’s existing channels in France like Disney Channel, Disney Channel +1, Playhouse Disney and Disney Cinemagic, along with +1 and HD versions.

Earlier with the launch of Disney XD, the kid’s entertainer had said that it plans to re-brand all Jetix channels into Disney XD by end of 2009.

A Disney spokeswoman said the entertainer is evaluating whether to change other Jetix Europe channels to XD. “We are looking at markets on a case by case basis”, she said.
