People mad to see The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises

MUMBAI: Christopher Nolan‘s final installment of Batman. So much is the excitement to see the film, the online ticketing service Fandango has said that more than 2,000 shows are already sold out including every midnight Imax run.
With this, The Dark Knight Rises seems to be outpacing The Avengers in terms of advance ticket sales, said the online ticketing service.
From Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, the film opens at the domestic box office in more than 3,700 theaters. Initially, it was reported that the superhero film had collected $25 million in advance sales as of Wednesday. The number shot up by the end of Thursday. The online ticketing service has sold out more than 2,000 shows of Dark Knight Rises.

"Thursday‘s ticket sales are incredibly strong, as film fans are flocking to Fandango to guarantee their seats for the film‘s opening weekend," Fandango executive vp and GM Rick Butler has reportedly said. "The good news is that that theatre owners are continually posting new show times on Fandango to meet the fan demand, so tickets are still available," it observed.
Pre-release tracking for The Dark Knight Rises is so huge that the film should have no trouble besting the $158.4 million opening of The Dark Knight to score the best domestic debut of all time for a 2D film.
