MUMBAI: The Final Destination opened as the highest grosser in US and Canadian theatres last weekend with ticket sales of $28.3 million.
Following it was Inglourious Basterds with $20.04 million. In the third position was Halloween II with $17.4 million.
The Final Destination follows a group of teens who try to cheat death after one of them has a premonition of a fatal accident.
The Final Destination is the seventh top debut for Warner Bros. this year, the last being Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
