Theatrical trailer of ‘Veronica Mars Movie’ released

MUMBAI: It was a long time ago when Veronica Mars ruled the hearts of TV viewers. And now, a movie made with the help of crowdfunding is set to create the same craze again. A new trailer of Veronica Mars debuted on 2 Jan.

With Kristen Bell, Krysten Ritter, Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Tina Majorino and Jason Dohring in the cast, Mars investigations is back in business. The trailer shows Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) learning about her former beau’s legal troubles – he’s been accused of murdering his girlfriend.

In the film, Veronica Mars has put Neptune and her amateur sleuthing days behind her on the eve of graduating law school. While interviewing at high-end law firms, Veronica gets a call from her ex-boyfriend Logan who has been accused of murder. Veronica heads back to Neptune just to help Logan find an attorney, but when things don’t seem right with how Logan’s case is perceived and handled, Veronica finds herself being pulled back into a life she thought she had left behind.

The series Veronica Mars aired for three seasons from 2004-2007 on UPN and The WB. The Kickstarter to fund the movie launched in February 2013 and reached its goal of $2 million in 10 hours. The Kickstarter campaign grossed more than $5.7 million. The fan-funded flick hits theaters on Friday, March 14 in select markets across the U.S.

In addition to Bell, Lowell and Dohring, most of the principal Veronica Mars series cast returned for the movie. Ryan Hansen, Krysten Ritter, Percy Daggs III, Tina Majorino, Francis Capra, Ken Marino and Enrico Colantoni all reprised their roles for the movie.
