Shandar Amrohi expires

MUMBAI: Shandar Amrohi, eldest son of the late filmmaker Kamal Amrohi and currently the owner of Kamalistan studio, has expired. He was 68.

Shandar died in Goa while shooting on a music video based on the poems of his step mother Meena Kumari on Sunday. Not so long ago, Amrohi had announced a music video of his stepmother that was being co-produced and directed by Barkha Roy. He had a small stint as an actor in his father‘s film Razia Sultan.

 
Shandar was embroiled in a property case with his sister Rukhsaar which is still pending in court. In 2010, he had announced that he wanted to adopt actor Preity Zinta and will his entire property to her but changed his mind after falling out with her.

Shandar’s body has been brought to Mumbai and the funeral will take place on this afternoon. He had been unwell for some time.
