MUMBAI: Partho Sengupta’s film Sunrise (Arunoday), which had undertaken crow
funding through indiegogo.com, ended with a total intake of $21, 000 on 29 May.

The film addresses the issue of child abuse in India and is expected to go into production soon. It is one of the 12 Indian projects that have been selected for the Open Doors programme of Locarno Film Festival. Open Doors is the co-production lab of the festival, which awards three cash prizes at the end of a workshop.

The movie has been offered help by three French companies who will assist with the subtitling, post production and lenses.

Sengupta is known for critically acclaimed films like Hava Aney Dey in Hindi and Trajet Discontinu in French.
