Ready to replicate Dabangg’s BO success?

MUMBAI: Will Salman Khan be able to replicate the box office success of Dabangg with his upcoming movie Ready? If one goes by Ormax Media’s prediction, he has a strong possibility of doing that.

Ready, which is releasing on 3 June, is expected to rake in around Rs 474 million in the first weekend, according to Moviescope, the predictive tool of Ormax Media.

Khan’s last movie Dabangg, which was released in September last year, did a net collection of Rs 487 million in the opening weekend.

Dabangg was the biggest blockbuster of 2010 which opened across 1379 screens. Ready, in comparison, will release across 1800 cinemas.

Meanwhile, the music of Ready has already created a buzz. As per the media research and consulting company’s popularity charts Heartbeat, the songs ‘Character Dheela’ and ‘Dhinkachika’ are on the top two positions. The audiences will have to wait and watch if Khan can recreate the magic which made Dabangg the biggest hit of 2010.

Moviescope includes four components - Ad Pre-Test, Film Pre-Test, Awareness Tracking (Cinematix) and Exit Polls. Using consumer data on various parameters, Moviescope predicts the opening weekend collections of a film a week before its release, and the Lifetime Box Office (LBO) within three days of release.
