Ramesh Sippy mulls directing once again

MUMBAI: How long can a reputed director like Ramesh Sippy lie low? The director who brought us the legendary Sholay is mulling with the idea of making a comeback to directing films once again.

The 64-year old filmmaker has reportedly said that he was working on the script and would make a formal announcement on its completion.
Besides Sholay, Sippy had directed Akayla, Bhrashtachar, television drama-series Buniyaad, Zameen, Saagar, Shakti, Shaan, Seeta Aur Geeta and Andaz.

After directing the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zamaana Deewana in 1995, Sippy devoted time to only producing films. With his last two productions Kuch Naa Kaho and Bluffmaster, Sippy saw to it that his son Rohan Sippy established himself as a director.

Rohan Sippy’s latest film Dum Maro Dum hits the screen today.
