Pookutty announces three scholarships for FTII students

MUMBAI: Sound engineer Resul Pookutty, who won an Academy award for
Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, has decided to grant three scholarships to the students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTIII), Pune.

This scholarship, instituted in association with the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) and worth $5,000, was initially launched in 2010 as an initiative of the Resul Pookutty–IIFA Foundation to promote Indian talent globally.

“We began in 2010 with one scholarship as a part of programme. In 2011, we had thought of giving two scholarships but now have finally settled for three scholarships,” Pookutty said.

Pookutty happens to be an alumnus of the FTII having passed out in 2005.
