Phas Gaya Re Obama to screen at Cannes

MUMBAI: Revel Film‘s Phas Gaya Re Obama (With Love to Obama) will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival‘s Marché du Film, which takes place in tandem with the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France.

The film, directed by Subhash Kapoor, is a satirical comedy set in the US and India that uses the global financial meltdown as a backdrop.

In the film, the main character, Om, an Indian-American, watches his wealth suddenly vanish over night. His personal financial crisis swiftly grows until suddenly he faces foreclosure on his home. Now in dire straights, Om travels to India to sell property owned by his family. But within days of arriving, he‘s kidnapped by a bunch of mobsters who believe the abducted is still rich. In the matter, they pin their hopes on the US president.

Another Bollywood film, Dear Friend Hitler, that stars Raghuvir Yadav in the lead will be premiered at Marché du Film on 11 May.
