NFDC to conduct two-session Screenwriters' Lab

MUMBAI: The National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC), in association with Binger FilmLab, Netherlands and Venice International Film Festival, will conduct Screenwriters‘ Lab 2011 in two sessions.

The lab aims at improving a completed screenplay in its final stages and to increase its international marketability.

The first session will be held during the Venice International Film Festival in September where participants will get first-hand experience of the workings of the international film community and get to train with their screenplay mentors.
The 2nd session will be held under the premises of Film Bazaar, Goa, from 24 to 27 November where participants will apply their training and pitch their revised screenplays to participants at the film market.

The workshop will be conducted by artistic director Marten Rabarts of Binger Filmlab. He will be aided by Ido Abram, director of communications, Eye Film Institute, Netherlands, and Philippa Campbell, a producer from New Zealand.

The Corporation has called for entries to the Lab. The last date for submission of entries is 17 June.
