Nana Patekar plans to direct an unconventional love story

MUMBAI: Two decades after he directed Prahar: The Final Attack, Nana Patekar is all set to direct an unconventional love story where a 50-year-old man would romance a woman half his age.

Patekar said the film will be on the lines of David Lean`s Ryan`s Daughter or the Roman Holiday sort. But it would not be inspired or adapted from them, he clarified. "In my film, the actress would be of 24-25 years of age while the actor would be almost of 50," Patekar divulged.

Ryan`s Daughter, set in 1916, tells the story of a married Irish woman who has an affair with a British officer during World War I, despite opposition from her nationalist neighbours.

Though it is a given conclusion that Patekar would play the 50-year old man, he said, "If I get a buddha khushad person like him (for the 50-year-old character), then good...or else I will only act."
