Mumbai Film Festival to give away cash prizes worth $200,000

MUMBAI: The 13th Mumbai Film Festival is offering cash prizes and incentives of up to $200,000 to the winners.

For the Best First Film, $100,000 will be awarded, while the Grand Jury Prize of $50,000 would be given out in the category of International Competition for the first feature films of directors.

A prize of $20,000 will be awarded in The Audience Choice Awards. 

All the above prizes will be equally shared between film’s producer and director.

There are also cash incentives of $10,000 for sales agents, if the award winning films are international or world premiers.

The festival is being organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), a not-for-profit trust founded by Indian film industry personalities and chaired by Shyam Benegal. The event will be held on 1 August.
