MP Court issues notice to Aamir Khan on Delhi Belly

MUMBAI: Following a petition filed by Dr Ajay Seth demanding stay to the screenings of Delhi Belly for its alleged obscenity and use of abusive language, the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur has issued notice to Aamir Khan and three others.

Besides Khan, other respondents are the Censor Board and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary. The notices were issued by the division bench of Justices Vimla Jain and K K Lahoti.

In his petition, Seth said the people, especially the youth, treat Aamir Khan as ‘God of the acting world’ and regard him as the maker of inspirational films. However, Delhi Belly is obscene and has abusive language which is "against Indian culture."

The petition also comes down heavily on the Censor Board for having cleared the film.

Replies are to be filed by 12 July.
