Milwaukee Film Festival to focus on India this year

MUMBAI: The Milwaukee Film Festival, to be held between 22 September and 2 October, will focus on India this year.

The programme titled ‘With Passport: India’ will cover a wide range of Indian films from traditional to contemporary Bollywood hits, documentaries and independent films.

In a statement, the festival‘s executive director Jonathan Jackson has said that “there‘s no better way to launch the programme than to highlight the home of the largest film industry in the world.”

The films that have been selected for screening at the festival are Aarakshan that would be screened on 24 September; The Bengali Detective, a documentary about private detectives; Bhopali, a documentary on the lives shattered by the Union Carbide chemical and gas leak in Bhopal in 1984; Gandu; I Am Sindhutai Sapkal; Marathon Boy, a documentary on an 8-year-old marathon runner; Mumbai Diaries; and Robot.
