Light-man falls from a height on sets of Ram Leela, survives

Ram Leela

MUMBAI: While we lavish praises on production houses and artistes for the success for a particular film, little do we think about the dozens of people who toil on the sets handling lights, camera and equipment transporting them from one place to the other and even to great heights.

A recent accident that happened on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s film Ram Leela had the entire crew gasping for breath when a light-man lost his balance and fell from a height.

It so happened that the light-man Chandramani Vishwakarma who was working on the lighting lost his balance and fell on a parapet from a height of nearly 42 to 45 feet injuring his back and legs badly.

The incident took place while the arrangements for the shoot were being supervised by Bhansali himself.

After the accident, he was admitted to Life Care Hospital at Goregaon.

Bhansali has agreed to bear the entire medical expenses as well as pay Vishwakarma around Rs 20,000 every month till he is fit and raring to go.
