MUMBAI: Relations between Bollywood and the Irish government have been growing ever since parts of YRF’s Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif-starrer Ek Tha Tiger was shot in Dublin, the capital of Ireland.
Banking on the excellent relations, the inaugural Irish Film Festival of India will be held in Mumbai from 23 to 26. The festival will follow the theme of ‘The Writing Irish’ to celebrate in film the long and rich heritage of Irish literature.
Films that would be shown in the festival include The Dead (1987), Krapp’s Last Tape (2000), The Butcher Boy (1997) and Circle of Friends (1995).
The festival has been founded by Marc-Ivan O’Gorman of Cleverality Productions with the support of the Irish Embassy in India, the Irish Film Institute, Enterprise Ireland and Culture Ireland.
