Fox Star to release Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes on 5 August

MUMBAI: After the success of X-Men: First Class, Fox Star Studios is gearing up to release Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes on 5 August.

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is a high octane action-packed thriller, in which dangers of science leads to intelligence in apes and a challenge to humans as the dominant species on the planet.

Oscar winning New Zealand-based digital effects house Weta Digital, which has created masterpieces such as Avatar, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and King Kong, has expanded upon its Academy Award-winning work to render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors. This technology allows audiences to emotionally engage with a lead character, a chimpanzee named Caesar, that does not actually exist.

Said director Rupert Wyatt, "When you have an opportunity to work with Weta and know what they can achieve with motion capture technology, you take it. We‘re at the dawn of a whole new age for motion capture photography and are using that technology to tell a whole story about the dawn of a new civilization, that is really exciting."

A box-office hit, its predecessor- Planet of The Apes - was considered as one of the greatest classics of celluloid science fiction that spawned a series of 70s films, TV shows, a merchandising tie-in bonanza and a misguided Tim Burton remake.
