MUMBAI: Filmwriter Soumik Sen and Eros International have decided to make a film based on composer R D Burman.

The production house has reportedly gone ahead and registered the film’s title R.D. with the Association of Motion Pictures & TV Programme Producers (AMTPP).

Eros has also decided to sign Vinay Pathak to essay the role of the noted music composer while Chitrangda Singh has been approached to play Burman’s wife in the film.
 
Confiirming the same, Eros International, chief creative officer Ram Mirchandani said, "Yes, we are making a film titled R.D. As of now, we are in the nascent stages. It is a fictional film based on the life of a music composer. The only additional thing that I can reveal at this point of time is that it will graph the ups and downs of the music composer‘s life, dwelling on all the trials and tribulations in his life."

And since the film is based on the legendary music composer, his songs owned by Saregama and Universal Music will be purchased for the film.

Since the film has to be good on music, it is being rumoured that Gourov Dasgupta, who was earlier associated with Eros in Chalo Dilli, will be kept in charge of the music of the film.
