Delhi Belly banned in Pakistan

MUMBAI: Putting off plans of exhibitors and cinema hall owners to start screening Aamir Khan‘s Delhi Belly this week, the Pakistani censor board has not cleared the film for public exhibition.

A leading cineplex in Karachi, which was to screen the movie from 1 July, informed media that the Pakistan censor board has not cleared the film. Hence, for the time being, the screening has been put off. The film is unlikely to be released in Pakistan.

The move has brought huge disappointment to the cinema fans in and around Pakistan who were waiting to watch the film that features Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan, Vir Das and Shenaz Treasurywala.

It may be recalled that last year the Pakistan censor board had banned the exhibition of Tere Bin Laden for the depiction of Osama Bin Laden, fearing it could trigger terror attacks on cinema halls.
