Dear Friend Hitler to screen at Cannes on 11 May

MUMBAI: Amrapali Media Vision’s debut project Dear Friend Hitler is set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival‘s Marche du Film on 11 May.

The film takes its name from the two letters that Mahatma Gandhi wrote to Hitler to try and prevent World War II from happening.

The film was initially controversial but the same died down after it was screened at the Berlin Film Festival that appreciated the film for showing facts and shunning the glorification of Hitler.

Anupam Kher was to play the role of Hitler, but after the actor backed out Raghuvir Yadav took up the role along with Neha Dhupia who plays Hitler‘s lover Eva Braun.

Directed by Rakesh Ranjan Kumar, the film will release on 22 July.
