3 Idiots to screen at Beijing Film Fest

MUMBAI: Rajkumar Hirani’s Aamir Khan-starrer 3 Idiots will be screened at the inaugural Beijing International Film Festival. The film is one of the 160 films from 42 countries that are being screened at the festival.

Another India-based film, Sari Stories by Britain’s Sue Sudbury, will also be screened in the documentary section. It is the story of a group of young women in rural Andhra Pradesh who film their daily lives giving insights into the lives of rural women in India and problems like child marriage and abuse.

Filmmakers like Darren Aronofsky, Robert Minkoff, John Woo, Feng Xiaogang and Peter Chan, producer Jeremy Thomas and actors Jackie Chan, Raymond Wong, Sammo Hung, Zhang Ziyi and Fan Bingbing were present at the opening ceremony of the festival on 23 April.

The inaugural edition of the festival is being organised by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Beijing Municipal
Government. The festival comprises events like Beijing Film Panorama, Beijing Film Marketing and Film Music Concert.

The Festival will conclude on 28 April.
