Mumbai: Amazon’s audio storytelling platform Audible has consolidated its media investment with GroupM’s agency Wavemaker. The brand has signed the agency for an integrated global media account with an aim to streamline its global marketing initiatives.
The partnership is followed by a review which started late last year. Audible’s overall global media investments sits at $500 million, reveals an anonymous source to the American's advertising trade publication Adweek.
Headquartered in Newark (New Jersey), Audible operates in ten markets across the globe including US, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, India, Japan and Australia. Earlier, every market had a different media agency for its operations, however, after this deal with Wavemaker, all markets will be handled from one point.
Earlier the US account of Audible was handled by Publicis Media’s Spark Foundry while the UK was managed by OMG’s Hearts & Sciences. However, now all markets are consolidatedly given to Wavemaker.
According to Wavemaker US COO Sharb Farjami the agency won this mandate because of its global scale and inherent connectedness. “I think we’re clearly very connected, not just from a cultural perspective but as a team,” Farjami said while speaking to the publication.
He also believes that it is GroupM’s advanced tools such as Choreograph, Nexus, etc., which helped the agency to secure this deal.
