    MUMBAI: Panini Media will bring ?Signs?, a XII Tribes Entertainment production, to next month?s television trade event MipTV.

    ?Signs? is a drama show introducing a ferocious battle for world markets and power between two competing companies in a world which is in economical crisis at the edge of globalisation. The company is positioning the show as not just another corporate drama thriller, The aim of the show is to drive and lead audiences to seek a fresh look at the business world where Greed, Power, Money and Astrology are not only factors at play.

    Manchester Holdings is owned by the mysterious Lord William Manchester who is unwillingly influenced by the powers of Daphne Bright, a gifted astrologer with ulterior motives. At the helm of his conglomerate of 12 companies he has placed the determined, talented and brilliant Natacha De La Tour.

    Powerful, bright, executive women are running each of the 12 companies under the authority of Natacha. They were handpicked by Lord Manchester not only according to their impressive resumes but also according to their Zodiac signs. Sir Richard d?Abancourt is willing to use any means possible to destroy his old schoolmate now his nemesis, William Manchester.

    The Manchester Holdings is attacked on every front by Sir Richard d?Abancourt, head of the greedy MCL group. Natacha will have to, with the help of her 12 CEOs, to face, fight and stop him.

  • 'Femme Fatales' to be showcased at MipTV

    MUMBAI: The series ?Femme Fatales? is heading to next month?s television trade event MipTV in Cannes, France with co-creators and executive producers Mark A. Altman ?Castle? and Steve Kriozere ?N.C.I.S.?, executive producer Mark Gottwald and Co-Executive Producer David E. Williams as well as cast members including Nikki Griffin, Christine Donlon, Madison Dylan, Catherine Annett, Shani Pride and Tiffany Brouwer.

    The anthology series is about women inspired by and styled in the tradition of pulp stories, film noir and graphic novels. The half-hour programme features stories inspired by such noir classics as ?Double Indemnity? and ?Pulp Fiction? and thriller TV series like ?The Twilight Zone?.

    In each stand-alone episode, women find extraordinary ways of coping with their problems, channeling their survival
    instincts and bringing out their inner guile. The series was recently honoured as an Official Selection of the prestigious Sitges Film Festival in Spain which screened seven episodes from the series first season.

    Entertainment One (eOne) handles the broadcast, digital and DVD distribution outside of North America for the series.

    MUMBAI: 9 Story Entertainment has announced its new and returning animation slate for the television trade event MipTV next month in Cannes France featuring Fugget About It, the company?s first foray in producing primetime animation.

    ?Fugget About It? is an animated sitcom about the misadventures of former New York mob boss Jimmy Falcone and his family, who are forced to enter a witness protection programme in small-town Canada. The Falcones are now the ?MacDougals? and it?s not easy going from glorified gangsters to neighbourhood nobodies. The series will on air on Teletoon At Night in Canada.

    ?Almost Naked Animals? is another series in the slate and is in its third season. The kid?s series features an ensemble cast of underwear-clad animals, set in a beachfront hotel named the Banana Cabana, home to mayhem, destruction and all around fun!

    ?Daniel Tiger?s Neighborhood? is an animated preschool series features Daniel, a shy but brave 4-year-old tiger, who lives in the beloved Neighbourhood of Make Believe.

    ?Camp Lakebottom? is an animated kids comedy about 12-year old mastermind and ultra-rich kid McGee, who gets sent to the most dangerous and exciting summer camp in the world, Camp Lakebottom. The cabins are possessed, the staff members are a real creep show and McGee and his misfit pals are having way too much fun!

    ?Arthur? sees the little aardvark and his gang of pals back for a digitally refreshed 16th season of 20 exciting episodes now produced by 9 Story Entertainment.

    In ?Wild Kratts?, the Kratts brothers leap into animated action in the 2rd season of Wild Kratts, an adventure comedy from the creators of the hit shows Kratts Creatures and Zoboomafoo. Chris and Martin Kratt travel to a different corner of the world to meet amazing new animals.

  • MGM's Roma Khanna to receive MipCube award

    MUMBAI: MIPCube, the two-day networking and live learning experience on the future of TV ahead of the television trade event MipTV in Cannes France, has launched the first-ever international Media Architect.

    of the Future Award to honour an industry figure who has helped define the new TV landscape, embracing innovation and creativity to take the super media to its next level of consumer engagement.

    The first recipient of this award is MGM president Television Group and digital Roma Khanna. Reed Midem will present the award during a Visionary Talk on day two of MIPCube on 31 March.

    Reed Midem?s Television Division director Laurine Garaude said, "We are proud to be honouring Roma Khanna at MipCube. She is one of the key architects of the future, helping the TV industry embrace innovation, unleash its creativity and deliver a better consumer experience. MipCube will bring together all the architects shaping the ever-changing world of television in all its forms, including key industry executives, the most innovative figures in the digital sphere, as well as from interactive media, advertising, social media and visionary producers."

    Khanna said, "My goal in this industry has always been to work in roles that allow me to cross between both current and future media, while focusing on innovation and growth.     Since her appointment at MGM in June 2011, Khanna has been charged with developing strategies to grow the business globally, while developing new, creative content. She oversees all television development and production, global sales and acquisitions, distribution and licensing, and content creation and digital initiatives for MGM television worldwide.

  • 'Titanic' show to be screened at MipTV 2012

    MUMBAI: The first episode of the mini-series ?Titanic? will be screened at the television trade event MipTV 2012 on 1 April in the Grand Auditorium in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

    Hosted by distributor ITV Studios Global Entertainment and Lookout Point, the gala screening will be followed by a conversation with creators and cast members of ?Titanic?, and the writer Julian Fellowes.

    Titanic is a co-production from ITV Studios with Shaw Media, Deep Indigo Productions and Lookout Point in the United Kingdom, Sienna Films Inc. in Canada and Mid Atlantic Films in Hungary, where it was filmed.

    The mini-series is distributed by ITV Studios Global Entertainment, and has already been sold in more than 80 countries. Produced by Nigel Stafford-Clark and Chris Thompson, the series of four one-hour episodes is scheduled for broadcast in March/April 2012, to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the ?Titanic?.

    Following the screening of episode one at MipTV, writer Julian Fellowes, who won an Oscar for ?Gosford Park?, will take part in a Q&Asession on the stage of the Grand Auditorium. He will be accompanied by cast members, who will also be attending the MipTV 2012 Opening Party Red Carpet.

    ITV Studios Global Entertainment MD Maria Kyriacou said, "This fantastic drama offers a vividly different experience of the ship?s last hours alongside a snapshot of what was a unique and uncertain moment in history. With our partners, we?re looking forward to celebrating this wonderful production in Cannes."

    Lookout Point MD and ?Titanic? executive producer Simon Vaughan said, "MipTV and Mipcom had been hugely important to the financing of Titanic. Julian and I were here with ITVS GE 18 months ago talking to potential partners and co-producers, so it feels most fitting to celebrate its launch with a gala screening here in Cannes. We are extremely proud to have the chance to screen it to our friends and colleagues in this way."

    Reed Midem director of the television division Laurine Garaude said, "We are delighted and honoured to host this exceptional gala screening of such a prestigious drama mini-series. As a major co-production, it coincides particularly well with our focus on drama co-production at this MIPTV and will be one of its highlights".
