i2i Media Ltd launched 'Suprabhatha', the 24 hour Kannada channel on 16 April, 2000. The digital channel is beamed on Thaicom-3 and boasts of programming from all genres.
Suprabhatha's sister channel 'Prabhat' which caters the Marathi community was on the brink of shutting down earlier. Thanks to the blessings from an angel investor, the channel got another chance to survive. It also could give birth to 'Suprabhatha'.
The channel is all set to give some competition to 'Udaya' belonging to Karunanidi Maran's Sun TV Network.
