World's untold stories : Ahmadinejad's Iran
MUMBAI: When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took office as the President of Iran nearly two years ago he promised an economic overhaul. He spent billions on infrastructure projects and salary increases, but this led to a surge in inflation. In local elections last year the president‘s supporters suffered heavy defeats.
Despite the domestic challenges, the ongoing tension with the international community over Iran‘s nuclear policies could define Ahmadinejad‘s presidency. Many Iranians are outraged at the West‘s criticism of the country‘s nuclear program. WORLD‘S UNTOLD STORIES: AHMADINEJAD‘S IRAN will take a look at what Iranians think about Ahmadinejad‘s leadership overall.
‘Ahmadinejad‘s Iran‘ is part of CNN International‘s weekly 30 minute documentary strand, WORLD‘S UNTOLD STORIES. Produced by UK firm Journeyman Pictures, the documentaries are fresh and compelling and aim to cover controversial issues that have been getting little or no media attention.
