BIG 92.7 FM invited listeners to dress up their children in lord ?Krishna? outfit and to participate in a fancy dress competition.     MUMBAI: The legendary Croc Hunter, Steve Irwin, with this signature khaki shorts, has been synonymous with Animal Planet for nearly as long as the network has been in existence

    Animal Planet will honour the wildly popular and exuberant wildlife conservationist during "Celebrating Steve"; a special full day marathon to observe his first death anniversary.

    Beginning from midnight on Monday, 3 September till 23:00 hours on Tuesday, 4 September, the special programming line-up will highlight Steve‘s background and personal history, from his early days at Australia Zoo, to his worldwide fame as the Crocodile Hunter, as well as his boundless passion for wildlife and his family. The full day programming will feature some of the best episodes from the long-running Crocodile Hunter series, which showcase Steve‘s dedication to conservation and his exuberant approach to educating viewers about the natural world.

    "Celebrating Steve" reveals some of the rare footage from the pilot of their first TV show and special segments dedicated to the conservation work that Steve and Terri did at Australia Zoo in wildlife rescues, habitat protection, endangered species breeding programs and their wildlife projects around the world. The programmes offer an intimate look at the life of Steve Irwin - husband, father, friend, conservationist and icon - through the eyes of those who knew him best. Through iconic, edge-of-your seat Croc Hunter moments to never-before-seen footage, this tribute recognizes, celebrates and honours Steve‘s passion and enthusiasm for spreading wildlife conservation.     MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata won the Srijan Samman GOLD in the radio spot category.

    MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata won the Srijan Samman GOLD in the radio spot category. Srijan Samman is the biggest media event for Bangla Advertising awarded by Sambad Pratidin, leading Bengali daily. Contenders for this very prestigious award were creative agencies in India and Bangladesh.

    This was the first year of BIG92.7FM‘s participation and it was the only ‘non-agency‘ to win a creative award at the gathering, not to mention that it was the only radio station to win the award. BIG92.7FM was nominated for two creative and won the gold for one of them. The award winning radio interstitial was created on the occasion of Sharukh Khan‘s Birthday. It was a fitting tribute to King Khan on his birthday from BIG92.7 FM Kolkata --an interstitial with a transcription of his Chart busters.

    Speaking on the occasion BIG 92.7 FM Kolkata Station Head Bodhayan Roychaudhury said, "This is our first year of participation and our talented young team has made us proud by being the only radio station to win this award."

    MUMBAI: Red FM, the station of expression for million of music lovers in Mumbai brought the Chak De team of women hockey players live from their studios for all Mumbaikars with RJ Malishka. The team joined RJ Malishka on her morning show ? Morning No1 from 8am onwards and shared their experience of working with Shahrukh Khan as their coach in the movie. Interesting never before heard trivia and fun stories on the sets were discussed and laughed about by the team in their candid interaction with Mumbaikars on the radio station. The girls also sang the Chak De theme song with RJ Malishka.

    The Red FM morning team also took the Chak De team for a screening of the movie where the girls gave a surprise appearance amongst the thrilled audience!

  • Under-17 World Cup football live on Ten Sports

    MUMBAI: Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent, will give its viewers a sneak peak into the Ronaldos and Beckhams of the future with its continued live coverage of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup football.

    The world?s premier junior football tournament, which is said to attract the most number of talent scouts from all leading football clubs in the world, moves into its quarter-finals stage in South Korea.

    There are some mouth-watering games lined up for quarterfinals , with France taking on Spain and two-time champions Ghana, who beat the mighty Brazilians in the pre-quarters 1-0, to take on Peru on Saturday, September 1.

    On Sunday, September 2, it will be a battle between the Latin skills of Argentina and the raw African power of Nigeria, followed by the clash of European superpowers England and Germany.

    Ten Sports will cover live the France vs Spain match on Saturday, followed by the exciting Argentina-Nigeria match on Sunday. Both the matches are scheduled for a 12:30 pm IST start.

    In the pre-quarters, Nigeria were just 12 minutes away from elimination against Colombia, before scoring two goals to win 2-1. Germany needed to dig deep to see off USA and England overcame a stern examination from Syria to advance.

    Defender Gaston Sauro emerged as the unlikely match-winner for Argentina when his pair of headers earned them a 2-0 victory over Costa Rica.

    Krystian Pearce and Rhys Murphy netted their first goals on Korean soil to help England overcome Syria 3-1. The hero for Germany in pre-quarters was Richard Sukuta-Pasu, who claimed both goals to inspire a 2-1 reverse of USA. In the process, the sprightly attacker outranked a trio of his team-mates as his side‘s top scorer in the competition.

    The semi-finals are scheduled on September 5th and 6th. The live telecast starts 3:30 pm IST. The final is on Sunday, September 9, also starts at the same time
