  • BIG 92.7 FM Rajkot, marks Labh Pancham in a special way!

Submitted by ITV Production on Nov 19, 2007

MUMBAI: Living up to it‘s brand line of Suno Sunao, Life Banao! BIG 92.7 FM, India‘s No. 1 FM Station, marked the auspicious Labh Pancham, the final day of Diwali festivities, on Thursday in a very special way. BIG 92.7 FM Rajkot‘s Breakfast RJs Makrand Shukla and Mital Rajgor visited many shops that reopened after the Lakshmi Puja and bought products worth Rs 101 from each shop. While for these shops BIG 92.7 FM was the first customer in the New Year, the RJs gifted the goodies bought to the underprivileged kids, thus making the day a special one for them. The most humbling experience for RJs was the generosity shown by the shop owners, who supported BIG 92.7 FM Rajkot‘s initiative, by giving away goods worth much more than Rs 101 offered. The RJs not only got an opportunity to give the New Year boni (the first pay) to the shop owners but also gave away BIG 92.7 FM goodie bags.

Right from utensils, stationery, woolens, grocery, sweets, toys, dry fruits to clothes, soaps and footwear, the RJs made sure they had plentiful in the kitty before proceeding to the slums across Rajkot to gift these to the children. The excitement in the air was indeed palpable as delighted kids thanked the RJs and walked away flaunting their New Year gifts. For the RJs though, the experience was worth it. "We lived our brand line of Suno Sunao Life Banao today. It was a gratifying experience," says RJ Mital Rajgor.

Mr. Kinner Acharya, Programming Head, BIG 92.7 FM, said, "We have already reached out to 10,000 families in Rajkot through our Aao Deep Jalayen activity through which we gave away Mithai and Farsaan at very nominal rates. We have always felt proud to live up to our brand line of Suno Sunao Life Banao and our activities have indeed carved a special place for BIG 92.7 FM in the hearts of our listeners. By celebrating Labh Pancham, we not only established a strong connect with shop owners in Rajkot, but also reached out to those at the bottom of the pyramid in a special way."
