Submitted by ITV Production on Nov 22, 2007

MUMBAI: Come Friday and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa - Dancing with the Stars - moves into the most exciting phase of the show. Having reached its halfway mark, the show will now have more dancing, 2 performances by each couples and more excitement in the coming weeks. But for now it is Bipasha Basu who makes for a sizzling Friday night as she shares the dais with Jeetendra and Urmila Matondkar as a judge in the absence of Shiamak Davar who has been busy entertaining packed houses with his show I Believe.

This Friday sees the return of Prachi Desai and her partner Deepak through the wild card entry, the duo justify their return with a scintillating version of Yeh mera dil from Don. The existing contestants may not be exactly delighted with the wild card entry but the viewers are looking forward to a good fight on stage we mean! The judges too are very happy with Prachi‘s comeback. Sandhya Mridul sizzled in her performances once again proving her credentials as a dancer. Ronit Roy‘s hard work is paying off. Nicknamed Amitabh Bachchan of television, it seems he is moving towards being the King Khan instead! Sonali Kulkarni who seems unhappy with her scores each week has reason to be over the moon this once. Mona has yet to forget that Toby is no longer her partner on the show; her unstilted loyalty still lies with him! But Rohit Roy seems to have curbed his over-enthusiasm about his Big Brother. The surprise packet of the week was Jay Bhanushali who tops the scores chart with his amazing performances choreographed by that bundle of talent Bindi Khare. Mir Ranjan Negi may not have put his best forward this week but he is sure to bounce back next week. He always does.

  • The Devil Wears Prada premieres Friday on Star Movies

Submitted by ITV Production on Nov 22, 2007

MUMBAI: In the world of fashion, all that glitters is not gold! Take a tour into the cutthroat world of couture with the TV premiere of The Devil Wears Prada on Friday, November 23rd at 9pm only on Star Movies!

The Devil Wears Prada stars two-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep (The Hours) as Miranda Priestly, the ice-cool editor of Runway, fashion‘s premier magazine. Anne Hathaway (The Princess Diaries) plays Andy Sachs, an idealistic, style-challenged journalist who lands a job as Miranda‘s junior assistant.

Intimidated by her perfectionist boss and derided by her catty colleagues, Andy proves she‘s more resilient than she first appears. Despite the demands of her boss, she completes Miranda‘s near-to-impossible tasks and eventually learns to appreciate the fashion industry.

For her role as the boss from hell, Streep was rewarded with her 14th Oscar nomination. In portraying a character reportedly based on Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, Streep said she wanted to make the character both relatable and realistic. "I was just interested in making a human being as contradictory and messy as we all are," she explained. "I think she is an exacting, highly disciplined, demanding, ambitious person who doesn‘t necessarily take the time for all the nice social lubricants that help make the workplace grateful and fun."

A commercial smash, The Devil Wears Prada took in over US$345mil at the worldwide box office. On the critical front, pundits praised the film‘s wit and Streep‘s peerless performance. The Los Angeles Times critic Carina Chocano described the film as "a sharp, surprisingly funny excursion into the catty realms of women‘s magazines." While Rolling Stone‘s Peter Travers called Devil "sinfully funny", New York Times critic Dana Stevens raved that "Ms Streep‘s Miranda inspires both terror and a measure of awe." Likewise, The Globe and Mail‘s Rick Groen quipped that, "The devil may wear Prada, but Meryl wears the crown."

Directed by David Frankel (Sex and the City), this stylish comedy boasts a strong supporting cast that includes Golden Globe nominee Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci (The Terminal).

Take a crash course into the world of high fashion with this fish-out-of-water tale packed with style, witty one-liners and a memorable turn from Meryl Streep. Catch the television premiere of The Devil Wears Prada on Friday, 23rd November at 9pm only on Star Movies.
