Reality TV exceeds the one million subscription mark in Japan

MUMBAI: The action oriented channel Reality TV has announced that it has exceeded 1 million subscribing households in Japan as of 31 December, 2005. At present, Reality TV has nearly 1,070,000 subscribing households.

The year-end subscriber breakdown is made up of approximately 560,000 cable TV subscribers, 460,000 DTH service subscribers via SKY PerfecTV! and 50,000 IP broadcast service subscribers.

The Reality TV network originated in Europe in 1999 by Zone Vision Networks, and its calling card is real-life stories and people, that could not be experienced by watching actors in fiction shows.

Reality TV was launched in February 2005 as Japans first channel dedicated to showing reality programming.
